About Casa Mourisca l Stylish townhouse

In a quiet street in the center of Silves, behind a striking azure blue door, you will find Casa Mourisca: a mansion where you will experience that luxury can also be authentic. Silves has an unhurried charm with picturesque cobbled streets and squares, a castle, market hall and nice restaurants. The sun-drenched beaches and green hills of the Algarve are a 20-minute drive away.

Casa Mourisca was renovated by the passionate owners Miquel and Sara, with the help of Studio Arte architects. This townhouse owes its riad style to the Moorish history of Portugal. Great care has been taken in the details; we love the handmade Portuguese and Arabic tiles & vintage furniture. The interior is a visual feast and there is also plenty of modern comfort. Comfortable hotel style beds, beautifully finished bathrooms, Marshall sound system, luxury kitchen with wine fridge, gas BBQ etc.

The heart of Casa Mourisca is the beautiful courtyard with four different patios, with tropical vegetation and romantically lit in the evening. The seductive cobalt green pool offers a welcome relief to finally finish reading that book on your lounger. You eat together at the long wooden table for up to 10 people, with a pergola and outdoor kitchen. Thanks to the air conditioning, you can stay here comfortably all year round.

Achter de blauwe voordeur gaat echt een prachtig ontworpen en smaakvol ingericht huis schuil. Heel erg ruim, zowel binnen als ook het buitengedeelte. Een hele fijne buitenkeuken met bbq en een grote eettafel. De plungepool heeft voor heerlijke verkoeling gezorgd tijdens ons verblijf. Er ontbrak werkelijk niks aan het huis. Alles wordt erg goed onderhouden. Heel erg leuk en gezellig dat het midden in Silves ligt. 's Avonds loop je de voordeur uit en ben je binnen een paar minuten in het gezellige centrum waar leuke restaurantjes, terrasjes en winkeltjes liggen. Het contact vantevoren met Tom van Potugal Villas was erg fijn, net als het contact in Portugal met de eigenaar van het huis, Miguel. Casa Mourisca is echt een aanrader!!

It was a joy again

Hi Tom, Casa Mourisca was fantastic again! In the middle of Silves with all kinds of nice restaurants. It was a joy again. I'll talk to you when we look for a house again.

Recommended in the pleasant town of Silves!

Beautiful house and very nicely decorated. Everything is very complete and including a nice welcome with tapas and wine. Outside barbecue and dining table super cozy to eat with a large group. Recommended in the pleasant town of Silves!

Renewal and relaxation

Our first experience with Portugalvillas was especially innovative because we normally stay in hotels during the holidays. Because of the architecture and surroundings of the villa we really imagined ourselves in the idyllic Portuguese life. Everything we needed was available in the villa, which made our stay very comfortable. We went to the beach, the harbor and took a city walk in Silves. We have been in contact with Tom who helped us a lot. Nice that there are such short lines!

Algarve - Silves

Silves is centrally located in the Algarve, approximately 16 kilometers inland from the coast. This convenient location makes it an excellent base for exploring both the inland and coastal areas of the region. Silves was once the capital of the Moorish province of Algarve and was known as "Xelb" during that time.

Within Silves itself, there are plenty of supermarkets and local shops to meet all your needs. In addition to supermarkets, Silves also offers various restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy delicious Portuguese cuisine.

For fascinating Moorish history, you can visit the medieval castle within the center of Silves. Silves Castle is one of the best-preserved castles in the Algarve and has a rich history dating back to the 8th century.

For more architecture, you can visit the "Cathedral of Silves" (Sé Catedral de Silves) within further walking distance. The Archaeological Museum (Museu Municipal de Arqueologia) offers more history and remains of Silves.

In addition to exploring the rich culture, you can, of course, unwind in natural areas such as Serra de Monchique and Parque Natural da Ria Formosa. Serra de Monchique is a beautiful mountainous area located about 30 kilometers from Silves and offers excellent hiking and biking opportunities. Parque Natural da Ria Formosa is a natural reserve with lagoons, islands, and various bird species, located approximately 70 kilometers from Silves.

The international airport of Faro, situated approximately 60 kilometers away, is the nearest airport to Silves.

Rental conditions

Rental conditions
The rental price includes the use of water, air conditioning and electricity (including washing bed linen, etc., maintenance of the pool and garden, and the use of WiFi).
The rental price is calculated on the indicated number of people. If visitors stay overnight during your stay, costs are involved. Please report this on arrival or during your stay.

Deposit
This will be credited to your bank account within 7 days if no damage has been caused by you returned, or in the event of damage, part or all of it may be withheld, or additional payment of the damage incurred is required.

Payment
When booking you will receive the rental contract, confirmation and route description.
The reservation is only final after payment of 30% of the rent. The remaining amount must be paid, including the above-mentioned deposit 8 weeks before arrival in Portugal.

Cancellation
In the event of cancellation of the rental agreement by the tenant(s), the following cancellation costs will be charged:
a. in case of cancellation up to 8 weeks before the first day of the booked stay: 50% of the rent.
b. in case of cancellation from 8 weeks before the first day of the booked stay: the full invoice amount.

Arrival and departure
You can move into the villa after 4 p.m. and must have left the villa before 10 a.m.; this is in connection with the cleaning of the villa.

Liability
Portugalvillas / landlord(s) do not accept any liability for the consequences of any accidents, etc. during your stay in Portugal, in and around Casa Mourisca caused by whatever circumstances.
