We stayed in Portugal near Silves. Silves House is fantastic; it has everything you need (and more) to relax and enjoy the peace and space. Both inside and outside, it’s full of character and attention to detail. We felt at home and thoroughly enjoyed everything in and around the villa. Host Miguel was also incredibly helpful and welcoming. He was always available and gave us great tips when we asked for them. Very much appreciated! Thank you so much. Highly recommended!

Modern, clean and very comfortable

This place is really great. We've been here for the past 2 weeks. The house is modern, clean and very comfortable. The garden is private and the Pool is very nice. The quinta lies a few minutes from Silves centre and the highway to Carvoeiro. The owner is very nice and the hospitality was top! I would surely recommend this house.

Very nice

Complete house

Spent 2 wonderful weeks in this complete house in early September. Good reception from the owner Miguel and his wife Sarah. If you like peace and relaxation, this is the perfect location. beautiful spacious garden and lovely pool. The house is fully equipped and bicycles are also available. Communication is perfect with Miguel where you can go with all your questions. We often think back to the wonderful evenings outside. Obrigado e adeus.

Very pleasant holiday!

A lovely sunny February week spent in this nice house. Despite the cold evenings, still a 'warm' house. Fully equipped. A nice shower, coffee and orange juice, which Miguel pointed out. He's very attentive anyway. House is ideally located. There is a bar within walking distance and with the available bicycles you can go to the shop or the village. In short, a very pleasant holiday!

Lovely house

We had al very pleasant stay in Silves House What a lovely house you have! This was the 7th time we stayed in the Algarve. Your house was one of the most beautiful and charming houses we had ever rent! We had such a pleasent stay! Thanks a lot for letting us stay in your lovely house! We were very pleasently surprised that you bought new couchons for the beds near the swimming pool! Very kind of you, thank you. We love your house! Maybe we will come back next year.

Wonderful two week stay

We had a wonderful two week stay. The house is located more than three kilometers outside Silves in the town of Torre e Cercas. You can park your car in the closed area. Around the house you have a lot of space and privacy. The pool is wonderful and there are also toys such as a ball. There is also a shower and toilet by the pool. What was great is that Miquel had arranged a 24-inch bicycle and a bicycle seat especially for us. We enjoyed the bikes.

Regularly use the barbecue and you can sit outside in the evening with lighting. There are two drying racks for your towels, among other things. You must bring your own beach towels. The kitchen has a Portuguese coffee system (qool) which you can buy at Lidl or Continente in Silves. There are also freezer elements and shopping bags that you can use. After one week our beds and towels were changed by a cleaning lady. We thought this was very neat. Miguel provides hand soap, toilet paper and towels. Trips we did: Silves with cathedral and castle, Sagres, Tavira and the beach Cabanas de Tavira, Praia da Marinha, Praia do Carvalho, Praia Carvoeira, Praia dos Salgados, dive at the diving school Divers Cape in Sagres (recommendation). Eat at DaRosa and cafe Ingles in Silves.

Communication is fast, good and smooth. Thank you very much for this wonderful holiday.

Algarve - Silves

Silves is centrally located in the Algarve, approximately 16 kilometers inland from the coast. This convenient location makes it an excellent base for exploring both the inland and coastal areas of the region. Silves was once the capital of the Moorish province of Algarve and was known as "Xelb" during that time.

Within Silves itself, there are plenty of supermarkets and local shops to meet all your needs. In addition to supermarkets, Silves also offers various restaurants and cafes where you can enjoy delicious Portuguese cuisine.

For fascinating Moorish history, you can visit the medieval castle within the center of Silves. Silves Castle is one of the best-preserved castles in the Algarve and has a rich history dating back to the 8th century.

For more architecture, you can visit the "Cathedral of Silves" (Sé Catedral de Silves) within further walking distance. The Archaeological Museum (Museu Municipal de Arqueologia) offers more history and remains of Silves.

In addition to exploring the rich culture, you can, of course, unwind in natural areas such as Serra de Monchique and Parque Natural da Ria Formosa. Serra de Monchique is a beautiful mountainous area located about 30 kilometers from Silves and offers excellent hiking and biking opportunities. Parque Natural da Ria Formosa is a natural reserve with lagoons, islands, and various bird species, located approximately 70 kilometers from Silves.

The international airport of Faro, situated approximately 60 kilometers away, is the nearest airport to Silves.

Rental conditions

Requirements
The rent includes the use of water, air conditioning and electricity (incl. washing bed linen, etc., maintenance of the pool and garden). Not included is the use of heating - wood for the fireplace.

Deposit
You are requested to pay an amount of € 300 as a deposit. This will be returned if no damage has been caused by you. In the event of damage, part or all of the damage may be withheld, and additional payment of any damage incurred is also required.

Payment
When booking you will receive the rental contract, confirmation and route description. The reservation is only final after payment of 30% of the rent. The remaining amount must be paid, including the above-mentioned deposit 8 weeks before arrival in Portugal.

Cancellation
In the event of cancellation of the rental agreement by the tenant(s), the following cancellation costs will be charged:
a. in case of cancellation up to 8 weeks before the first day of the booked stay: 30% of the rent;
b. in case of cancellation from 8 weeks before the first day of the booked stay: the full invoice amount.

Arrival and departure
You can move into the villa after 4 p.m. and must have left the villa before 10 a.m.; this is in connection with the cleaning of the villa.

Liability
Portugalvillas / landlord(s) do not accept any liability for the consequences of any accidents, etc. during your stay in Portugal, in and around the accommodation, caused by whatever circumstances.

Others
We advise you to take out proper travel and cancellation insurance.
On arrival, your hostess/host will be present for reception.
